Le groupe ne parvient à jouer que quelques titres car la foule a commencé à crier de manière injurieuse et à lancer des choses vers la scène. Ils attendaient un concert d'Eric Clapton comme le suggéraient les affiches. Après avoir joué "Where There's A Will, There's A Way" Delaney en colère en a assez et crie au micro « Assez! Nous préférons ne pas chanter, alors bonsoir! » et quitte la scène.
Eric Clapton, clairement embarrassé, vient au micro et dit: « J'allais chanter une chanson, mais je suis tellement nerveux maintenant, vous savez ...! J'allais chanter une chanson, mais ... mais vous avez été si impolis que je suis trop nerveux pour chanter, donc je ne peux pas le faire… ok, désolé! »
Quelqu'un dans la foule crie alors « Fuck off! » Clapton, maintenant en colère, dit: « Exactement! ouais, je ressens la même chose pour vous tous! » Ce fut la fin du spectacle.
Une fin triste à ce qui aurait dû être une expérience agréable pour tout le monde. Heureusement, la tournée à venir au Royaume-Uni serait un grand succès, sans parler de beaucoup de plaisir.

La véritable amitié qui unissait G.Harrison et E.C.a commencé lorsque les Yardbirds passaient en première partie du "Another Beatles Christmas Show" un spectacle proposé à l’ Odeon Theatre de Londres du 24 Décembre 1964 au 16 Janvier 1965 par les Beatles.

A l’initiative d’Olivia et Dhani Harrison Eric Clapton et Jeff Lynne ont organisé un concert hommage qui a eu lieu au Royal Albert Hall le 29 Novembre 2002 un an jour après jour après la mort de G. Harrison. Clapton en était le directeur musical.
«Quand nous répétions, je pensais que s'il était là, il dirait probablement "Merci beaucoup Eric" mais je ne veux pas vraiment ça» E.C
Comme ceux de ce concert tous les bénéfices de la vente des produits "Concert Tor George" étaient au bénéfice de la fondation "The Material World Charitable Foundation" créé par G. Harrison en 1973 pour parrainer différentes formes d'expression artistique et encourager l'exploration de visions et de philosophies de vie alternatives.

En deux parties bien distinctes le concert débute par de la musique indienne, une des facettes de la musique d'Harrison et un aperçu de sa personnalité spirituelle, notamment un long Arpan (offrande en langue Hindi) de 23 minutes. Un ensemble de 16 musiciens dirigé par Anoushka Shankar, Eric Clapton y jouant un solo acoustique obsédant.
Anoushka Shankar est une fille de Ravi Shankar lequel bien que présent ne participe pas activement au concert bien qu’il fut ami et mentor de George Harrison.
