Sorti en 2010, Clapton est le 23ème album studio d'une des plus grandes légendes vivantes de la guitare, Eric Clapton. La pochette est aussi sobre que son titre, une photo de Clapton, sur fond noir, tout simplement. Le contenu de ce disque est à la fois sobre et assez généreux : le disque est long, 62 minutes, 14 morceaux, quasiment que des reprises de standards du Blues, le tout remarquablement bien produit par Clapton lui-même (le son de l'album est tout simplement remarquable) et Doyle Bramhall II. L'album a été enregistré à Los Angeles et à la Nouvelle Orléans, Clapton chante et tient évidemment la guitare, mais il s'est entouré de musiciens remarquables, dont quelques invités de marque : Wynton Marsalis (trompette), Willie Weeks (basse), J.J. Cale (guitare, chant sur trois titres), Derek Trucks (guitare slide), Jim Keltner (batterie)... Des musiciens de grand talent, dont certains, comme Weeks ou Keltner, sont des habitués claptoniens. J.J. Cale aussi, Clapton ne cessera de reprendre ses chansons en live (After Midnight, Cocaine dont il fit même un hit en 1977 en la reprenant), et fera un album avec lui : The Road To Escondido, qui est remarquable), et Cale, de son côté, avouera avoir eu envie de vraiment se lancer dans la musique en entendant jouer Clapton dans les années 60 (John Mayall, Yardbirds, Cream), vu que Cale a démarré sa carrière bien après Clapton.

VH1 (États-Unis) a filmé la dernière répétition d’Eric avant le début de sa tournée nord-américaine "Nothin But The Blues" dans la salle de bal Hammerstein du Manhattan Center.
Le film a été diffusé en Amérique pendant une semaine pour une programmation spéciale liée à Clapton pour promouvoir son CD de Blues "From The Cradle" En octobre, la spéciale a également été diffusée sur VH1 Europe et VH1 Japan sous une forme légèrement plus longue.

Sorti en 2010, Clapton est le 23ème album studio d'une des plus grandes légendes vivantes de la guitare, Eric Clapton. La pochette est aussi sobre que son titre, une photo de Clapton, sur fond noir, tout simplement. Le contenu de ce disque est à la fois sobre et assez généreux : le disque est long, 62 minutes, 14 morceaux, quasiment que des reprises de standards du Blues, le tout remarquablement bien produit par Clapton lui-même (le son de l'album est tout simplement remarquable) et Doyle Bramhall II. L'album a été enregistré à Los Angeles et à la Nouvelle Orléans, Clapton chante et tient évidemment la guitare, mais il s'est entouré de musiciens remarquables, dont quelques invités de marque : Wynton Marsalis (trompette), Willie Weeks (basse), J.J. Cale (guitare, chant sur trois titres), Derek Trucks (guitare slide), Jim Keltner (batterie)... Des musiciens de grand talent, dont certains, comme Weeks ou Keltner, sont des habitués claptoniens. J.J. Cale aussi, Clapton ne cessera de reprendre ses chansons en live (After Midnight, Cocaine dont il fit même un hit en 1977 en la reprenant), et fera un album avec lui : The Road To Escondido, qui est remarquable), et Cale, de son côté, avouera avoir eu envie de vraiment se lancer dans la musique en entendant jouer Clapton dans les années 60 (John Mayall, Yardbirds, Cream), vu que Cale a démarré sa carrière bien après Clapton.
