Comment est-il possible en l’espace de 24 heures d’opérer un virage à 180° ? Si le concert de la veille avait provoqué une immense déception, celui du 25 mai 2017 a réconcilié Eric Clapton avec tous ses fans qui avaient dépensé une petite fortune pour venir le voir. Tout était différent ce soir là et ce, bien avant le début du concert, la foule des grands soirs était au rendez-vous (les revendeurs faisaient fortune) et il régnait ce sentiment difficilement descriptible qu’il allait se produire quelque chose de grand et ce fût le cas. Un Eric Clapton de gala avec des solos à vous faire frissonner, des musiciens souriants et plaisantant entre eux, un public en fusion et un final étourdissant avec une superbe version de « Sunshine of your love » avec un E C on fire et jouant tellement bien que Nathan East et Doyle étaient littéralement médusés en le regardant. Un instant inoubliable pour moi aussi puisque j’ai terminé le concert debout contre la scène, à 2 mètres de « God » littéralement émerveillé par le spectacle offert ce soir- là.
